Television is the first on the list. Actually, the size of the television will always depend on the budget you have and of course the size of the room you will put or hang the TV on. The bigger, the better, for the whole family to feel a theater-like experience. It is not necessary though, but if you have all the resources, why not?
Invest on a good set of speakers. Surround, bass, main are the most common to have a theater-like sound system at home. For movie-goers, they are really used to watching movies with a loud sound. Sofa bed will make the family movie nights the coziest nights together. The usual movie theaters have ordinary seats with cup holders. There are movie theaters that offer seats that can be reclined. Imagine having your home theater with sofa bed in it. Aside from feeling thrilled and enjoyed while watching the movie, your whole body is relaxing all throughout the stay in the home theater.
Mini refrigerator can practically be added. Aside from potato chips and other snacks that you can bring with you inside your home theater, a nice and cold drink is a must. This is also to avoid pausing the movie just because you wanted to have a cold beer. You cannot keep a drink cold all throughout the movie without the ice. So to make it more convenient, purchase a mini fridge and load it with different drinks for the family.
A studio recording microphones can be added if you want the home theater to be a music room at the same time, especially if one or all the family members are into music.
