Aquarium club Gracilis exhibited more than 30 aquariums during a biennial show last year
If you love the theaters, you will have loved the idea of exploring water life in small boxes. This is exactly what you get in aquarium shows such as those exhibited by various Aquarium Clubs. Last year they have featured all kinds of aquarium set up. From freshwater set up with floating plants to exotic set up featuring rare fishes.

The Westelse aquarium club Gracilis have exhibited no fewer than 38 aquariums in the parish hall of Tongerlo during its biennial aquarium show last year. The showpiece of the exhibition had been the impressive sea aquarium, the wooden explorer’s hut with snails and walking branches.
The biennial aquashow at Gracilis at the end of August has already become a well-known tradition. After the anniversary year of 2017, the exhibition is now ready for the 26th edition this year. There was something for everyone again: in more than 30 aquariums were smaller fishes such as a blue-red cardinal tetra and larger specimens such as discus fish. Many viewers admired misfits such as the labyrinth fish, which can breathe air, and the axolotls, salamanders that had been well-worn. In addition, there are also some terraria.
The wooden explorer’s hut was something new that enthusiasts have explored themselves and, for example, spot snails and walking branches. An aquarium that also caught the eye immediately is the marine aquarium, which was a lot rarer than the many freshwater aquariums due to its high cost. “Such a marine aquarium is also much more colorful due to the presence of different corals, while a freshwater aquarium looks mainly green,” says chairman Chris Eurlings. “The fish are of course different as they are species that only survive in saltwater, such as the anemone fish.”
The underwater world is gaining more and more interest because of the rise of people gaining interest in aquariums and its set up. While aquariums are a way to bridge man and the oceans, there’s a lot to know about these setups. You can check out the Octopus Studio for more information about aquariums and its right set up.
